Earlier this Fall I met sound engineer Jay Ramos aka TheFakeGhost in one of my classes at Pasadena City College and a few weeks ago we got together for a SonnyBCreative and F.O.R.J.H.A. Music Group collaboration.
FORJHA is an acronym for Funk Orchestra Rock Jazz Hip-Hop Arrangements.
The Fake Ghost shot me an uptempo instrumental sounding like a fusion of funk, electro, dub step and hip-hop and told me to write something to get the crowd moving so I put on my MC hat and went to work.
Nothing but good vibes when I went into his home recording studio to lay my verses. We’re definitely gonna be working together on some other stuff in the future but for now, I can’t wait for y’all to hear the track we cooked up.

My fellow brethren in music and good friend, MC HINOMARU, and I got together to create a music video to signify his transition to his next chapter in the music industry. MC HINOMARU had planned to take his music career to the next level and promote out in Japan. We got together the night of his final show in the US to create this montage video.
Like myself alike, MC HINOMARU, is always on the grind and striving for higher goals. We had originally planned to do a full music video, but as always time was against us. Arriving at his final show, we both had no idea what to actually film. With a bit of thought we decided the montage route might be the best of choices.
Prior to filming the video, MC HINOMARU had sent me a variety of new songs of his. After gathering footage from the final live performance, I spent some time listening to HINOMARU’s music closely and decided “BREAK UP” was the right choice. The song itself sends a message of of leaving and returning at the same time. Lyrically its one that we can all relate to in some way or another. The continuous piano loop really elevates the song to the next level, make it feel Japanese NUJABES-esque yet multidimensional. MC HINOMARU writes
This lyric was deep for me, and I couldn’t write it without tearing up.
I had a great time working with MC HINOMARU, and hope the best for his music career. He’s very talented with tons of ambition.

What’s going on everybody?
My name is MaJiK. I am a recording artist here at SonnyBCreative and have been so for a good part of the last 3 years. As some of you may or may not know, Sonny_B has relocated to Japan thus prompting a larger role for me with the company. You will continue to get your updates from Sonny_B while in Japan but now, I will also be sharing updates regarding my music, events here in the U.S. and anything SBC related.
For now, I just want to let you all know a little about myself.
I have been writing poetry almost 9 years now, I rap, record music, and I love performing live. I do all of this in hopes to inspire others so that they may go out and achieve great things. We are all capable of so much and I want to encourage everyone to maximize their potential.
I love music, Hip-Hop, especially. The way certain lyrics have influenced my life for the better, I wish to provide the same effect for another. If I can touch just one person at a time, that would make it all worth it. I want to thank Sonny_B for being a great mentor and I’m extremeley excited to share with you all what we’ve been working on.
I envision a world where everybody who dare to dream isn’t considered a child or naive. A world where cash didn’t rule everybody around me and the mark of success isn’t by what a person has but what a person has done. Change is a part of evolution, it’s a part of growing and I challenge you to question everything, not to be defiant but for the purpose of improving. We live in a world where technology is always advancing, so why aren’t we?
I have two projects coming out 1) A joint album with Sonny_B and 2) My solo EP tentatively titled “Just A Thought”. Stay tuned to SBC, they will be coming out shortly.

nayokenza and I have been talking about doing a collabo for a couple years now. After I released my buzz track “Hip Hop Reppin'”, he immediately hit me up and shoot me over a verse! I was actually shock at how quick he wrote and recorded the verse. After sometime, I decided to redo the track with nayokenza’s verse included. I think it turned out nice. Listen carefully as we are both dropping Janglish rhymes over this joint! haha
